Mabel Aragon
Mabel Aragon is an award-winning reporter with nearly a decade on television. She is a New Jersey native and a proud graduate of William Paterson University with degrees in journalism and political science. She brings a wealth of journalistic and compassionate storytelling to online news company Hudson TV, where she freelances as a reporter and producer, and WMBC-TV, where she is a reporter and anchor.

Mabel has won the Communicator Award and the Telly Award for her compelling news stories. In addition to her broadcasting work, she has contributed news articles to print publications, among them the New York Post and Pasadena Weekly. Besides her work reporting the news, she has experience covering the entertainment industry. She was a correspondent for KCAA Radio in California, where she served as a guest host for their morning show and covered dozens of red carpet events, including the MTV Movie Awards, the Alma Awards, and numerous film festivals in the Los Angeles area. Every Monday evening, listeners can hear her online announcing the Top 10 Countdown for New Visions Radio.

She has a talent for creating a comfortable environment for her guests, prompting memorable discussions. Mabel has interviewed celebrities and newsmakers from all walks of life, including Senator Cory Booker, New Jersey State Epidemiologist Dr. Christina Tan, and Emerald Garner, whose father Eric Garner uttered the words “I can’t breathe,” which will live on forever. Her segments have also produced entertaining conversations with actor and director Andy Garcia, Golden Globe winner Gina Rodriguez, Latin Grammy Award-winner Luis Fonsi, Emmy Award-winning actor and producer Edward James Olmos, and French actor Gilles Marini.

Inspired by her passion to inform, educate, and entertain, she developed Kickin’ it with Mabel, an online show that debuted on her You Tube page, as well as Instagram and Twitter accounts, during the 2020 quarantine that delves into a variety of topics, such as relationships, movie releases, nonprofit initiatives, and the latest health news. Her talks with celebrities are spontaneous, lighthearted, and fun. Some guests have engaged in games like Dare to Reveal, where actor Kelly Perine revealed that he’s known for hoarding food on sets. Actor, producer, and director Danny Arroyo confessed his love for comic books and played a round of Comic Book Trivia. Musical artists, such as Tito Puente Jr. and Flaco Navaja have been known to play an impromptu tune.

In 2019, Mabel expanded her interests and began working as a commercial print model, appearing in corporate and consumer advertisements, as well as live events.

She currently resides in northern New Jersey. When she’s not working, she loves singing and has performed at various musical venues on the East Coast and California. She also enjoys dancing and has participated in several performance showcases, among them the Las Vegas Salsa and Bachata Congress.
